Every Parent Worries. Here's the One Most Don't Talk About.

You've done everything right. You've taught your child to be kind, to use their words, to walk away. But the hard truth is: bullying doesn't stop just because your child is a good kid. It happens on playgrounds, in hallways, at lunch tables — and in those moments, what your child feels on the inside matters just as much as what they do on the outside. A child who doesn't feel safe in their own body can't stand up for themselves. And no amount of "just tell a teacher" prepares them for the real moment it counts.

  • Your child comes home quiet and withdrawn — and you don't know if something happened or they just had a hard day
  • You worry about the summer months when school supervision disappears and kids are left to navigate social dynamics on their own
  • You've tried confidence-building activities — sports, activities, classes — but nothing has given them that inner sense of calm, grounded self-assurance
  • You want to help, but you don't want to hover — you want your child to develop real tools they can use on their own, without you always having to step in

Introducing Crown BJJ Summer Camp 2026

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most practical self-defense system ever developed for smaller, younger people — and it was specifically designed so that technique, awareness, and calm decisiveness always beat size and aggression. That's why BJJ is different from any other martial art for kids. It doesn't teach them to fight. It teaches them how to stay safe, stay calm, and stay in control — no matter what.

At Crown BJJ Summer Camp 2026, your child isn't just taking a class. They're entering a structured, progressive program built around one core goal: developing the kind of confidence that comes from truly knowing what to do. Over 3, 6, or 9 weeks, kids move through a carefully designed curriculum that addresses bullying, physical safety, emotional regulation, and personal leadership — all inside a safe, supervised, and encouraging environment.

This is not a daycare with a mat. This is a real program, run by real coaches, with a real curriculum. Every week builds on the last. Every skill is taught with purpose. And every child leaves the summer stronger — not just physically, but in the ways that actually matter.

🛡️

Confidence

Children develop the internal belief that they can handle difficult situations — because they have real skills to back it up.

👁️

Awareness

Kids learn to read their environment, recognize unsafe situations early, and understand how to respond before a situation escalates.

🤲

Control

Through BJJ fundamentals, children develop body control, calm under pressure, and the ability to protect themselves without becoming the aggressor.

What Your Child Actually Walks Away Knowing

How to create distance and escape from a grab, hold, or unwanted physical contact safely and calmly
How to fall safely — a fundamental skill that prevents injuries in everyday life, not just on the mat
How to recognize a bully's tactics and what to do verbally and physically before a situation becomes dangerous
Basic BJJ defensive positions — including how to protect themselves on the ground, the most vulnerable place a child can be in a confrontation
How to use voice and body language to project confidence and de-escalate situations before they become physical
How to stay calm under pressure — breathing techniques and focus drills that help kids regulate their emotions in stressful moments
Respect, discipline, and sportsmanship — the cultural values of BJJ that transfer directly into school, friendships, and family life
How to be a leader, not just a survivor — by Week 9, advanced campers are mentoring younger peers and demonstrating skills in Friday showcases
Our philosophy is simple: safety first, confidence always. We never teach children to attack, escalate, or engage unnecessarily. We teach them to be the most calm, capable person in the room — and to walk away when they can, and protect themselves when they must.

The Full 9-Week Journey: A Curriculum Built with Purpose

Every week has a theme. Every theme builds on the last. By the end of summer, your child hasn't just practiced moves — they've gone through a complete confidence and self-defense development program.

— Phase 1: June 2–20 —
Week 1
Foundations, Respect & Mat Safety

Every great skill starts with the right foundation. Kids learn the rules of the mat, how to move their bodies safely, how to treat training partners with respect, and the core values that make BJJ different from any other activity.

Week 2
Movement & Confidence Building

Before technique comes movement. This week focuses on body awareness, coordination drills, and the kind of physical confidence that comes from learning to move with intention — skills that carry off the mat into everyday life.

Week 3
Anti-Bullying & Self-Defense Awareness Anchor Week

The cornerstone of the program. Kids learn to identify bullying behavior, understand their rights and options, practice verbal de-escalation, and apply basic physical awareness skills to real-world scenarios. This week changes how kids see themselves.

— Summer Break: June 23 – July 4 —
— Phase 2: July 7 – August 15 —
Week 4
Takedowns & Control (Defensive Application)

Introduction to safe, controlled takedown defense — how to prevent being taken to the ground, how to stay on your feet, and what to do if you aren't. All techniques are framed as defensive tools, not offensive ones.

Week 5
Control & Safety Positions

Kids learn the most important positions in BJJ — how to hold a safe position, how to control space, and how to prevent an aggressor from escalating a situation. Heavy focus on calm and controlled movement.

Week 6
Escapes & Standing Up Safely

One of the most critical real-world skills: how to escape from a hold, pin, or compromised position and return to a standing, safe posture. Kids gain enormous confidence from learning they always have an "out."

Week 7
Controlled Submissions & Responsibility

A careful, age-appropriate introduction to submission techniques — framed entirely around responsibility, timing, and never using these skills outside the mat except in genuine self-defense situations. Ethics and restraint are core to this week's lessons.

Week 8
Confidence Under Pressure

Stress inoculation in a safe environment. Kids practice skills in slightly higher-pressure scenarios — timed drills, friendly competition formats, and confidence challenges — so they know they can execute when it counts.

Week 9
Leadership, Graduation & Showcase

The capstone week. Advanced campers mentor younger peers. Every child demonstrates what they've learned in a Friday Showcase for family. Graduation ceremony, certificates, and celebration of a summer well earned.

Every Child, Every Age — A Group Built Just for Them

We don't put a 4-year-old on the mat with a 12-year-old. Each age group has its own curriculum pace, coaching approach, and skill benchmarks — because development isn't one-size-fits-all.

Little Champions

Ages 4–6
  • Introduction to movement, coordination, and body awareness through age-appropriate games and activities
  • Focus on listening skills, taking turns, and basic mat safety — the building blocks of discipline
  • Simple confidence-building exercises designed for young attention spans and developing motor skills
  • A nurturing, playful environment where every child feels seen and celebrated

Junior Grapplers

Ages 7–9
  • Core BJJ fundamentals introduced with clear instruction and partner drilling
  • Direct focus on anti-bullying awareness, verbal confidence, and understanding personal space
  • Introduction to defensive positions, safe falling, and basic escape techniques
  • Group challenges and team activities that build camaraderie and social confidence

Advanced Juniors

Ages 10–12
  • Full BJJ curriculum progression including takedown defense, control positions, escapes, and responsible submission awareness
  • Deeper character development: leadership, pressure management, and mentorship of younger campers
  • Competition-format drilling and confidence-under-pressure training for older, more developed athletes
  • Priority access to competition team placement for qualifying 9-week campers

What Crown BJJ Families Are Saying

★★★★★
"Before this summer, my son would come home defeated almost every week. Something was happening at school and he just didn't have the tools to handle it. After just three weeks at Crown BJJ, I watched him walk into a situation that would have wrecked him before — and he handled it. Calm, confident, exactly like they taught him. I was in tears. This program changed him."
— Sarah M., mom of a 9-year-old
★★★★★
"I was honestly skeptical. My daughter is not aggressive at all, and I didn't want her learning to fight. But Crown BJJ is nothing like I expected. It's about confidence, awareness, and staying safe — not fighting. She came home every single day excited to tell me what she learned. By Week 6 she was walking differently. Standing taller. That's real."
— Marcus T., dad of a 7-year-old
★★★★★
"The fact that lunch is included sounds like a small thing but it's huge for our family. We have three kids and the logistics of summer can be overwhelming. Crown BJJ made it easy. Show up, drop off, pick up a confident kid at noon. Coach Fausto sends a weekly update and you always know exactly what your child is working on. We've already re-enrolled for next year."
— Jennifer R., mom of two campers, ages 6 and 11

Your Questions, Answered

Crown BJJ Summer Camp welcomes kids ages 4 through 12. We've designed three distinct age groups — Little Champions (4–6), Junior Grapplers (7–9), and Advanced Juniors (10–12) — so that instruction, pacing, and expectations are developmentally appropriate for your child. Four-year-olds are not expected to perform the same skills as 12-year-olds, and our coaches are trained to meet every child exactly where they are.
Safety is the foundation of everything we do — not just a talking point. All training is supervised at all times by certified, background-checked coaches. Techniques are introduced progressively, with safety mechanics taught before any live practice. Our staff is CPR and First Aid certified, the facility is maintained to strict safety standards, and our curriculum is specifically designed to minimize contact risks while still delivering real skill development. The vast majority of our camp time is drills, movement, and partner exercises — not sparring.
Absolutely not. The majority of our campers are beginners, and the curriculum is built from the ground up assuming zero prior experience. Week 1 begins with the most foundational skills — movement, falling, and mat safety. If your child has some prior experience, they'll be placed appropriately and will still find the curriculum challenging and growth-oriented.
Yes — both a morning snack AND a full lunch are provided every camp day, included in your package price. There is nothing for you to pack, plan, or remember in the morning rush. Your child will be fed, hydrated, and fueled for a full morning of activity. Details about any dietary accommodations can be discussed at registration.
Drop-off begins at 8:00 AM. Coaches greet campers at the door and supervise them from the moment they arrive. Pickup is at 12:00 PM sharp. All pickups are managed through our authorized guardian list — only adults listed on your registration may pick up your child. Photo ID may be requested. We take pickup security seriously and have a clear protocol in place to ensure no child leaves with an unauthorized adult.
Yes — and this is exactly the situation our program was designed for. BJJ builds confidence from the inside out, and that confidence is the most effective long-term response to bullying. Week 3 is specifically dedicated to anti-bullying awareness, verbal de-escalation, and practical self-defense tools. But equally important, the entire 9-week experience changes how a child feels about themselves — and that change is visible to bullies, teachers, and parents alike. Children who carry themselves differently, make eye contact, and respond from a place of calm confidence are significantly less likely to be targeted. We can't promise instant results, but we can promise that this program will give your child real tools — and that makes a real difference.
Absolutely. The 3-Week Starter Camp (Phase 1, June 2–20) is specifically designed for families who want to experience the program before committing to the full summer. Many families start with 3 weeks and return for Phase 2 after seeing the change in their child. Note that spots are limited and registration fills up — so if you're considering adding weeks later, we can't guarantee space will be available.
Registration is handled through Gymdesk, our camp management platform. Click any "Reserve Your Spot" button on this page to be taken directly to the registration form. A $35 non-refundable registration fee is due at signup — this fee includes your child's Crown BJJ camp shirt. Package fees are due per the payment schedule provided at registration.
