

Starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time can feel exciting and a little intimidating. At Crown BJJ, we make sure your first class is welcoming, structured, and beginner-friendly.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing. If you don’t own a gi yet, that’s completely fine—many beginners start in regular workout gear. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to meet the coach and get familiar with the space.
Class begins with a light warm-up focused on mobility, balance, and basic movements used in BJJ. Everything is scalable, so beginners are never pushed beyond their limits.
Your coach will demonstrate fundamental techniques step-by-step. You’ll practice slowly with a partner while receiving guidance and corrections.
Drilling allows you to repeat techniques in a controlled and safe environment. This is where learning really happens, and partners are always supportive.
The class finishes with stretching and a quick recap. You’ll leave feeling accomplished, energized, and excited for your next session.
